went out with the entire gang yesterday to holland v crystal jade for lunch. it has definitely been a while since our whole gang has met up altogether. all because the last time we saw a certain somebody from our gang was during this year's chinese new year... thats like a good 5 to 6 months lor... no matter, lunch was yummy, even though im now broke beyond broke, haha. qianqi came late, and was still at home by the time we were supposed to meet, which wasnt really any surprise, hurhurhur, but never mind lah, used to it already lor. 习惯就好 lor, haha. next time we meet up, must remember to tell her the time we are supposed to meet minus an hour. she will probably show up at the correct time haha.
after lunch we went to jalan jalan around the place. went to lim's, hurhurhur, then shin had to leave for church. went to mark's house after that to sit around and watch harry potter GOF on HBO. i cant believe jacq fell asleep watching harry potter lor. i can say the movie wasnt exactly the best potter movie, but still, falling asleep? i even more so cant believe jacq doesnt read harry potter lor. that is just not normal lor. but then its jacq what, hahahaha =P.

spoilers ahead. shoo if you havent read deathly hallows.
i just finished reading the last harry potter book yesterday. not because im slow, but because other people were reading before me and there was only that one book haha. i love the book. the story was very 紧凑, very tight and fast- paced, unlike the fifth bbok, ootp which had too much space in between when harry was being angsty and a pain in the ass. this book, deathly hallows doesnt give you time to catch your breath or an opportunity to put down the book. i was pretty much glued to the book and finished it in a day haha. throughout the book i was very tense, haha. its quite touching too. i cant believe she killed fred. the twins were my favourite characters lor. poor george. cant begin to imagine what the remaining twin will feel like.
i cant stand those people who keep complaining that the ending was cliche. like duh. the ending for this type of stories always ends something like this, dont they. any other possible ending, like harry survives and voldermort doesnt (good triumphs over evil), or both die in the last battle (good and bad cancels each other out, the balancing out thing), they will be cliches lor. pretty duh what, cos anybody could have thought of these endings for the book. but how then to end the book without a cliche? its impossible. i mean, the only ending that wouldnt be a cliche is if nobody finishes voldermort off. in that case it wouldnt be an ending anyway. i really doubt anyone wants to see this type of ending, so shut up already. and what is so bad about the hero coming back to life again? yeah, yeah. its a cliche. get over it. or would anyone rather voldermort triumph? i think not right. so we are left with cliches. anyway, it isnt really the ending that is that important, it can be guessed anyway. the important thing about the last book is how rowling will come up with interesting content that will answer all the questions and mysteries of the earlier book. its again, the old cliched to death saying of how the journey is more important then the end of it. i'll concede that the last chapter, or rather the last few sentences were sort of neither here nor there. i turned the page expecting more, but it was more like "hur? end already?", very abrupt lor. and throughout the book there were some "hur?" parts, like when fred died. it was more like "he died?". plus alot of the other characters werent really accounted for after the battle. but all in all, harry potter and the deathly hallows was a really good read, very exciting.
i hope rowling will write more books that will make harry potter's world even more complete. like how tolkien wrote all those books on the history of middle earth which made the whole thing seem even more real. it'd be pretty cool. like what happened to the other characters after the battle. what happened to hagrid, mcgonagall. who became the new minister for magic? did kingsley become the permanent minister. who became the new headmaster/mistress of hogwarts. what career harry, ron, hermione and other characters went into. and wandlore. i really think alot of people will ask rowling to write about wandlore after she wrote that juicy little bit about how complex and secretive wandlore is. how do you expect people not to ask questions about that? its way too intriguing.
snape, kreacher, dobby and the twins are great. totally love this book. long live harry potter! haha ^_^

went to benny's psc scholarship ceremony today. it was boring, as expected of this kind of ceremony thing, but im still glad i got to see it. haha, no chance for my sister, cos only 3 places and also because she wasnt back yet when he was filling the names. its so 奢侈 that the istana has such large grounds in the middle of orcahrd road lor. wah lao, land in orchard road is how ex lah. anyway, they really spend alot on these scholars lor. there were people bringing umbrella to you at the carpark to shelter us (cos it was raining) to the chartered minibus that was suppose to bring us to the main building. that is too 夸张 lah. so weird lah. and uncomfortable. and self- conscious. weird. but then again my brother kind of signed his life away to this thing lah, haha.
anyway, i guess with such a 厉害 brother, 难免会感到有一点骄傲. but cannot let him know, i just know how he will rub it in my face haha. mr teo chee hean is seriously tall, so is mr lee hsien loong. or it may just be my brother who is really short hawhawhaw.

yesterday was qq's birthday so we went out. as usual im the first one to reach harbourfront station where we were supposed to meet at 12.30pm (werent we, jacq) ok, so maybe because my house is 15 minutes away from harbourfront, im sorta early hehe. anyway, us girls minus qq, obviously, went shopping for qq's present and i ended up buying a pair of aviator shades for myself from forever21 as well haha. i have been wanting aviator shades for the longest time. but damnit, now im broke. so it wasnt the 11 bucks that i spent on the shades that made me broke, more of like, how i havent been working for the whole holiday and living on my meager amount of close to non- existent savings, which probably accounts to loose change for shaar, haha. anyway, end of story is that im broke, and moral of the story is spend within your means. but i choose to forget this wise words from myself once in a while, wahaha.
anyway, we bought this blue and white striped top for qq which she may or may not wear as a dress. it is too short by the way. dont know where she gets these weird ideas from anyway. must be the pornstar in her, wahaha. so we went to settler's cafe after meeting up with qq at clarke quay station, who was also incidentally late. seeing as how she is the birthday girl, shes allowed to be late (i guess?). haha, we were damn noisy in settler's lor. ugly dolls was really fun and noisy haha. i ove noisy games, they are so much fun lor. im the boss was fun too, but man, was shin scary. haha. she can definitely do business, shes damn good at bargaining/ negotiating lor, hahaha. and dont get taken in by jacq if anyone ever plays with her lor. she kept saying she was very play and asking to be part of the deal, in the end who was the one with $81mil and won both rounds of im the boss? tsk tsk tsk.
we went to riverside indonesian restaurant for dinner. pretty good food, the kind i like. i guess you can call it malay food. yum yum, haha. qq took a lot of pictures since she was the only one with camera. in fact qq and jacq were constantly taking pictures, so much so that it annoyed me and shin, hahah. anyhow, it was fun, and i manage to get rid of the dust and cobwebs i managed to gather over the holiday haha. waiting for pictures to be uploaded by qq, whee. ^_^

currently reading j. r. r. tolkien's the silmarillion. always wanted to read and know more about the early ages of middle earth after reading lotr. like alot of people, it was really the movie that actually got me interested in the books, but what the hell, im a normal person and dont just ready great literary works out of the blue lah. honestly, the silmarillion takes some warming up to. i actually fell asleep for abit while reading the front part of the book, haha, but it gets much more interesting as the story goes on. its amazing how tolkien comes up with his story, its amazing. its like another world of his own. supposedly, theres alot of stuff about christianity going on in his books, but owing to the fact that i am not one, i dont really see all that much parallel between the story and christianity. of course, there's the obvious one where they have this god, eru, and the fall of melkor or morgoth, who is probably suppose to be satan, i guess. ok, i think this is getting boring. the point is... there isnt any.
just random ramblings again. i guess.
haha.
can anybody tell that im bored?
oh yah, national stadium closed officially yesterday. singapore got well, thrashed in a way, 3 - 0 by the socceroos, but the little that i actually caught on tv was actually not too bad soccer from singapore too. epl players harry kewell and mark viduka scored. viduka, the australian side captain, scored twice. kewell's rather cute, haha. the singapore players put up a pretty good fight actually, so, not too bad i guess. the match between the veterans of singapore and those across the causeway, i didnt watch and i have no idea who won. when i watched the replay on news though, i was rather worried for the keepers from both sides. afterall, age is catching up on these old guys, and they still have to dive all over to save goals. like seriously, ouch. haha
